WhatsApp Organizations: Nowadays, it is common for schools, offices, or any other organization to create groups on WhatsApp. In 2022, WhatsApp introduced the 'Communities' feature to bring multiple groups together. While this feature proved quite popular, the growing number of members and sub-groups within a community became a management headache for admins. To determine which member belongs to which sub-group, admins often have to sift through various individual groups. To address this challenge, WhatsApp is introducing a new, smart tool called 'Organizations.'

What is a WhatsApp Organization?

An 'Organization' serves as a dedicated space—essentially a management dashboard—for community admins. Through this feature, admins can view details about the entire community on a single screen, including the organization's name, its description, and the total number of members. Most importantly, admins can access a complete list of all community members and identify exactly which sub-group each member belongs to.

What is the difference between a Community and an Organization?

Since these two features can sometimes be confusing, it is important to understand that they are distinct. A 'Community' is a space where multiple groups are brought together, allowing members to communicate and receive updates. An 'Organization,' on the other hand, acts as an administrative layer that sits above the community. In simpler terms, the 'Community' is for general members to chat and receive updates, while the 'Organization' is a tool exclusively for administrative management. Since this tool is not visible to general members, their WhatsApp experience will remain unchanged.

Currently in the testing phase

This interesting feature is still in the very early stages of development. This has recently been spotted in an update to the WhatsApp Beta for Android, available on the Google Play Store. As WhatsApp is still working on it, we may see several changes to its design and features in the coming months.

Currently, no official date has been announced for its public release. The company typically decides whether to roll out a feature globally based on feedback received during beta testing. If everything goes as planned, WhatsApp admins could soon gain access to this powerful tool.
